Chapter IV Historical background and brief overview of the state of Jammu and Kashmir Now the axis of jihad was the area of ​​Colonel Raja Muhammad Mahmood Khan, Gulpur, Tharoch and Khatkali, within which the stronghold of Tharochi was the last colonial symbol of the Dogra government in this area. There were two platoon forces in this fort. One platoon consisted of Muslim soldiers and officers while the other platoon was led by Captain Prem Singh Gorkha. But the two officers in the Muslim platoon were Colonel Muhammad Hussain and Commandant Colonel Rehmatullah. تھروچی قلعہ

قلعہ تھروچی منگرالوں کی شان رفتہ کا منہ بولتا ثبوت، ضلع کوٹلی، آزاد کشمیر  میں واقع ہے. قلعہ تھروچی کرنل محمود خان مرحوم فادر آف 11 اے کے بٹالین کی کمان میں 1948ء میں ڈوگرا فوج سے واگزار کرایا گیا. تھروچی قلعہ سے ملحقہ گائوں آج بھی منگرال خانوادوں کا گڑھ ہے جہاں بڑے بڑے سیاسی و سماجی نام بستے ہیں.  قلعہ تھروچی کشمیر کے بادشاہ زین العابدین عرف بڈھ شاہ کے وزیراعظم اور سپہ سالار افواج ملک مسعود ٹھاکر نے 1425ء میں تعمیر کیا جس کا مقصد وادی کشمیر میں پڑنے والے وقتا فوقتا قحط سے نبرد آزما ہونا تھا تاکہ غلہ کی رسد کو یقینی بنایا جا سکے. تھروچی پر منگرالوں کی حکومت کے آخری ادوار میں رنجیت سنگھ نے 1908بکرمی میں حملہ کیا اور اس جگہ پر دفاع کرنے والے منگرال راجپوت سرداروں میں سردار سمت خان، سردار کرمدی خان ساکن بڑالی، سردار شادمان خان اور سردار ستارمحمد خان شامل تھے. اس حملہ میں منگرالوں کو شکست ہوئی اور یوں 1908 ب میں یہاں منگرالوں کی حکومت کا سورج غروب ہو گیا. مگر بعد ازاں ستار محمد خان کے پڑپوتے مذکورہ بالا کرنل محمود خان مرحوم نے ڈوگرا افواج سے دوبارا واگزار کرا کے اپنا جدی انتقام پورا کیا.
